The Coastal footpath.

From Port Santa Lucia to the Baumette point, the coastal footpath meanders between the sea and the Estérel.
This coastal footpath was originally intended to help customs officers survey boats arriving on the coast.
The trail begins at Port Santa Lucia (close to the boatyard). Follow the yellow markers along the 8.5 kilometre trail and in around 2.5 hours you will arrive at the Baumette lighthouse. You can make the return journey by bus (N° 8 bus-stops are all along the route) or by train.
This marked footpath is packed with volcanic remains :
1. Quartz-rich lava from Santa Lucia's volcano resembling a huge mass of "organ pipes", just after Santa Lucia Port.
2. After Aigue Bonne beach, remarkable black rocks formed by volcanic dust 230 million years ago.
3. Plage du Debarquement, an incredibly hard grey-blue volcanic rock, dating back 30 million years emanating from the ancient Dramont mines.
